These are the perfect snacks for football Sundays. Yes, I do know that the Superbowl was more than 2 months ago. That just means we are 2 months closer to the start of the 2011 football season. Nevermind that there may be a lockout. I probably sound like I am pretty excited for football season, right? Well, that is because I am. I love football season for 1 reason and 1 reason only. It is the perfect opportunity for me to make all kinds of appetizers!
And these jalapeno poppers are on the menu every Sunday during football season. We are big Chicago Bears fans around here so we like to call them “Pepper’s Poppers”. I even like to think that making “Pepper’s Poppers” on gamedays bring the Bears, and specifically Julius Peppers, good luck. I did not make them for that unfortunate playoff loss against the Packers. Obviously, if I had made my “Pepper’s Poppers” the Bears would have been in the Superbowl instead of the Packers!
These poppers have a few things going for them:
Super easy to make!
Spicy!!
Bacon!!!
Everything tastes better wrapped in bacon, right?

Here is what you'll need

Remove the stems from the jalapenos

Slice them in half lengthwise

Remove the ribs and seeds

Like this

Fill them with cream cheese

Cut the bacon in thirds

Wrap each one with bacon and use a toothpick to secure

Put them in the oven for about 25 minutes
Ingredients
Jalapenos
Cream Cheese
Bacon
Note: The amount of each ingredient depends on how many jalapeno poppers you want to make. For each jalapeno halve I use about 1/2 tablespoon of cream cheese and 1/3 of a strip of bacon. But remember each jalapeno is cut in half making 2 poppers.
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Remove the stem from each jalapeno and then cut it in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds and the ribs from each jalapeno. The seeds and the ribs are the source of the spiciness, so leave some if you like spicy things! Fill each jalapeno halve with about ½ tablespoon of cream cheese. Cut each strip of bacon into thirds. Wrap the cream cheese filled jalapeno with bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place each popper on a roasting rack, cream cheese side up. Cook for about 25 minutes
