I have gone back and forth about a million times trying to decide if I should say what I am about to say. What will people think? Will they agree with me? Will they think that I am crazy? Will they stop reading? Will they leave me nasty comments? But in the end I decided it is my duty as a food blogger to tell the world the truth. So here goes, inside-out-chocolate-covered strawberries are better than any chocolate covered strawberry I have ever eaten. And I have eaten a lot of chocolate covered strawberries in my life.
Up until 2 weeks ago, I thought they were just about one of the best desserts ever. But now that I’ve had inside-out-chocolate-covered strawberries, I’ll probably never go back. I know it is a bold statement. But it is also true. These are way better.
One night I wanted to find a quick recipe I could make for the blog. I remembered seeing someone make strawberries filled with whipped cream. We had the strawberries, we had sugar and we had heavy cream. Perfect. But then I got to thinking. How can I make these better? Well, in my experience, Nutella makes everything better. So I decided to make the whipped cream and instead of using sugar I folded in some Nutella. I had no idea if it would turn out and if it did work, how would it taste? But I made them anyway. I am sooo glad I did. Kelly, Cliff and I all agreed that these were way better than regular chocolate covered strawberries. And I decided to name them inside-out-chocolate-covered strawberries, even though they are filled not covered. This might be the easiest dessert I have ever made! And one of the best! If you make these leave me a comment and tell me if you prefer these or chocolate covered strawberries.

Here is what you’ll need

Wash and core the strawberries

Whip the heavy cream

Add the Nutella

Gently fold it into the whipped cream

Put the whipped cream into a ziploc bag with a star tip

Fill each strawberry with Nutella whipped cream

I promise, these are better than chocolate covered strawberries!
Inside Out Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Ingredients
- Strawberries
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup Nutella
Instructions
- Wash and core the strawberries. Whip heavy cream in a stand mixer until you get stiff peaks, about 5 minutes. Gently fold in the Nutella. Take a medium sized ziploc bag and cut off one corner. Put a star tip through the hole. Fill the bag with the Nutella cream and close it. You can also use a pastry bag if you have one. I prefer the ziploc bag trick because I don’t need to to wash it once I am done. Fill each strawberry with the Nutella cream. I got about 20 strawberries, but it depends on how large they are.
