I have mentioned before that Cliff does not typically like sweets. So, when he suggests some kind of dessert I usually try to make it for him. Twix bars are one of his favorites and when you add Nutella they can only get better. This was his pick, but we all enjoyed them. I spend hours making cakes and cheesecakes and he won’t eat them. These Nutella Twix bars took about 10 minutes and he loved them.
Sometimes it is nice to make a dessert that doesn’t have 20 steps, 15 ingredients and take 2 hours! These were very easy and tasted great! Ours didn’t turn out quite as pretty as Savory Sweet Life’s though. I guess we will have to keep practicing! I really love the sweet/salty flavor combination. Sprinkling sea salt on the top makes them even better. We used 24 pretzel rods and 24 caramels to make 12 Nutella Twix bars. Increase the recipe by adding 2 caramels and 2 pretzel rods for every candy bar plus a little extra chocolate.
Here is what you’ll need
Cut the caramels in half and soften them in the microwave
Press 4 halves on 2 pretzel rods
Assemble all the candy bars before you start dipping them in chocolate

Pipe a line of Nutella on each bar
Spread the Nutella
Melt the chocolate

Dip each bar in chocolate
Flip it and cover the other side in chocolate
Let excess chocolate drip off of each bar
Sprinkle with sea salt
Nutella makes everything better!

Nutella Twix Bars
Ingredients
- 24 square caramel candies, cut in half
- 24 4 inch honey-wheat pretzel sticks
- 1/3 cup Nutella
- 2/3 cup chocolate chips
- Sea salt
Instructions
- Place caramel halves on a plate in a single layer. Microwave the caramels for 8 seconds until they are soft. With two pretzels side by side in the palm on your hand, line four caramel halves along the pretzel from one end to another. Gently pushed the caramels down. Spoon the Nutella into a sandwich bag and cut the tip off. Pipe a line of Nutella on the non caramel side of the pretzels. Carefully spread the Nutella across the top surface. Place chocolate chips in a microwave safe container and microwave for 1 minute and stir until smooth. If necessary, microwave for an additional 30 seconds to get the chocolate smooth. Dip the pretzels in chocolate. Lift the bar from the chocolate and allow any excess chocolate to drip off. Place bars on a plate or board lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with sea salt. Place the board in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
