DIY White Frostea

I’ve mentioned a couple times that I pass several Starbucks on my way to work each day. Well, I also pass 2 Argo Teas. It’s just too much! If the Starbucks doesn’t lure me in, Argo is bound to. I drooled over a sign in the window for a few days…White Frostea. Finally I gave in to temptation.

Word can’t even describe how good this tea was. I’ve always been a tea lover, but this was beyond anything I had ever tried before. I literally walked into the office and made one of my friends try a sip so that we could discuss the minty goodness together. It’s like minty hot chocolate…except that it’s tea! When I came home that night I told my roommate that I went to Argo. It just so happens that she had gone also and she tried and loved the White Frostea too. Sometimes we read each other’s minds.

I loved the White Frostea so much that is was a no-brainer that we had to recreate it. Our DIY version was really good, but in all honesty not quite as good as Argo. I decided to use fresh mint to infuse the water but I am wondering if peppermint white chocolate bark would have been better. I am going to try that next and I will update this post.

Either way…I plan on making this tea all the time!

Here’s what you’ll need

Bring water to a boil and let the mint leaves infuse the water

Remove the mint leaves and add the white tea. Let steep 5 minutes.

Add the hot tea to a mug

And the hot milk

And the sugar too

Now stir the chocolate until melted and smooth

My new favorite treat. Inspired by my fave place, Argo 🙂

Ingredients

  • 2 cup water
  • 3 tsp white tea
  • 1-2 cup milk
  • 4 mint leaves
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 oz good white chocolate (we used Lindt)

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, heat water and mint leaves until water comes to a rapid boil. Spoon out the mint leaves and remove from heat. Drop a tea ball with white tea in the saucepan. Steep for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, heat the milk up in the microwave for 30 second intervals or in another small saucepan. Set hot milk aside.
  • Remove the tea ball and pour the tea into a mug. Pour in the hot milk and top with sugar. Quickly add the white chocolate and stir until completely melted and smooth. Serve immediately.
