I feel like certain ingredients get really popular on food blogs. For awhile everything was Nutella. Which is great, because I love Nutella. Then everything was salted caramel. Again, love it. Then it was Biscoff. No complaints here. Is it still Biscoff?
Is there some new “hot” ingredient that I don’t even know about yet? Even though certain ingredients get super popular I find myself never tiring of Nutella. 10 years from now will there still be a Biscoff craze? I don’t know, but what I do know is that I will always have a big jar of Nutella in my pantry. Me and Nutella are like 2 peas in a pod. Best friends forever. We are in looooooveeeee. Big time.
Kelly and I decided we wanted to make some type of dessert grilled cheese. We were originally going to do brie and apples or some kind of fruit. But then I was like, well, if its dessert it is going to need chocolate. Obviously.
But brie and Nutella? I don’t know? Now mascarpone and Nutella, that is a combination I can get behind. And then obviously we needed some fruit. We used strawberries and apples but you could do raspberries or kiwi or mango. And then to make it even more desserty we decided to use cinnamon bread. Let me just say, it was delicious! It was messy but oh so delicious!!
Here is how to make it
- Dice the apples and strawberries and add the fruit preserves.
- Mix together the Nutella and Mascarpone.
- Butter one side of the bread and then start the build.
- Grill for 2-3 minutes on each side.
The grilled cheese of your dreams!
