Over Easter Cliff, Winnie, and I took a quick trip to California to visit Cliff’s family. The main reason was to attend his Grandma’s sculpture dedication but it was also a chance for his family to meet Winnie for the first time. We were there to visit family but we snuck in some touristy activities, too.
On Easter day Cliff, Winnie ,and I went to visit a couple of beaches in Laguna Beach. It was great to get away from the cold, crummy, Chicago weather and enjoy a beautiful, sunny, beach day! We visited tide pools and saw a seal on the beach. Two things which are non existent in Chicago.
We had a great time just taking in the beautiful scenery. We also dipped Winnie into the ocean for the first time! She really loves the water!
Afterwards we had lunch and Winnie tried lobster for the first time.

And of course we couldn’t visit California without going to Disneyland! I had not been to Disneyland in years so I was excited to go again. It was super busy. It was a good thing that we got there right when it opened. We were able to walk right on a few rides before it got crazy busy. We learned that Winnie does not like the rides that are in the dark. She didn’t mind the high, spinny rides though! And of course, I got my first Dole Whip! Wow! That was one of my favorite treats ever. Thanks Tammy for waiting in that line!

We can’t wait to visit again! Next trip: Cancun!
