Frenchman Street Spritz

Frenchman Street Spritz

One of our favorite Thanksgiving traditions is traveling over the holiday. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve been in Chicago for the holiday and they were all less than ideal situations. In recent years, we went to Italy, California and Nashville during the long Thanksgiving weekend…but this year we’re going to keep it a bit more local.

On Thursday morning at 4am we’re hitting the road. Destination: Cincinnati. We have a few things planned (mostly local eats, obvi) but our top priority is relaxing at the home we’re renting. Just lounging around without a care in the world. Sounds pretty fantastic, right?

Last year in Nashville we tried to go to a restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner. It was a nightmare because most places were closed and the ones that were open were a 2+ hour wait. Not happening with a 6 month old. This year, we’re making dinner (not turkey) at home.  And what goes perfectly with a home-cooked meal? A fun and creative cocktail of course! This Frenchman Street Spritz recipe came to us from our friend, Maggie, whose family hosted Thanksgiving in California for a number of years. Even though we won’t be in California this year we’ll still be thinking of the fun times we had and we’ll be cheersin’ with our new favorite cocktail!

Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
